Visible Margins exists because many disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent artists are shut out. Not for lack of talent, but by the systems around them. From gatekeeping to burnout, the barriers are real.

We offer a flexible, supportive space where artists can get support in sharing and selling their work without needing to hustle, perform, or meet someone else's timeline.

This is art and income on your terms.

WORK THAT WORKS FOR YOU

We recognize that traditional employment often isn’t accessible or sustainable for many disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent people. Visible Margins is designed as a bridge: a way for artists to earn income, build visibility, and connect with an affirming community without burning out.

We don’t believe in hustle. We believe in honouring capacity, working with joy, and creating from a place of safety.

CENTERING VOICES TOO OFTEN SILENCED

We prioritize artists who:

  • Are disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, or navigating mental health challenges
  • Are systemically excluded from traditional workspaces
  • Need flexibility and understanding in how they show up and create
  • May not have access to professional art opportunities, but deserve them
  • Are caregivers to disabled, chronically ill or neurodivergent individuals and therefore are limited in capacity and traditional work opportunities


We don’t require credentials. We recognize lived experience as expertise.

WE WANT YOU TO PROFIT

Our goal is always to keep artist profits as high as possible. During our soft launch:

  • You keep 90% of all art sales
  • We take 10% for now, to cover hard admin and hosting costs
  • As we grow and bring in outside funding, our plan is to reduce or eliminate this fee
  • We are flexible with this and can reduce or remove the admin % for artists that are trying to make ends meet

  1. APPLY
    Artists submit a short form with samples of their work.

  2. REVIEW
    We curate the work to ensure quality and mission alignment.

  3. COLLABORATE
    We help you decide what kind of products make sense ie. originals, prints, downloads, or merch.

  4. LAUNCH
    You get your own artist page. We promote you on Instagram and connect sales to our shop.

  5. SUPPLY ART
    Once a purchase is made, you will send it to the customer in the method that was established for your sales.

  6. EARN
    Artists keep 90% of all sales for now. As we grow other revenue streams, we aim to reduce or eliminate commissions altogether.

Our long-term dream is a worker-run creative collective where every role from artist support to marketing is held by disabled, chronically ill, or neurodivergent folks, or those that care for them. That means more than selling art. It means building a structure where people can work in ways that honour their bodies, their brains, and their boundaries.
